Hikvision unveiled HDTVI PoC (power over coax) solution

Intending to solve the interference problem caused from power cables, Hikvision recently unveiled its patented HDTVI PoC power system solution.

What's PoC?

PoC stands for Power over Coax, it's a unique technology that supports both video signal and power supply transmission over the single coaxial cable. This solution included front-end PoC HDTVI cameras, PoE power supply device and back-end HDTVI DVR. The release of PoC solution can greatly reduce the installation cost, no need to use separate cable and power supply for HDTVI video surveillance system.

According to the press release, the front-end PoC HDTVI network camera DS-2CC12D9T-E, equipped with 2 megapixel CMOS image sensor, it supports 120bB wide dynamic range, detachable lens design allows users to choose different specification lens for diversity video surveillance applications. PoC power supply devices including 4 channel and 8 channel two models, they are DS-1TP04 and DS-1TP08, using them can use coaxial cable to power up 4 channel and 8 channel HDTVI cameras, the power rate of each channel can reach up to 8W. Supporting the connection of 4 channel and 8 channel HDTVI DVR.

Utilizing PoC equipment, you can achieve using the single coaxial cable to transmit power supply, video, control signal. 

To security integrators and installers, PoC power supply solution can bring convenient installation, simple cable layout and reduced cost etc many benefits. The coaxial cable transmission can reach up to 300 meters, perfectly solved the difficulty of power supply to front-end cameras, and can achieve centralized power supply.
