D1001 is a smart IP camera supports 720p HD video monitoring, remote pan/tilt rotation, thermostat function. This is an ideal security camera for home, shop, office, garage, warehouse and more indoor video surveillance monitoring applications.

Answer: The WiFi cameras support dual video streaming technology (HD main stream; SD sub-stream). If the CMSClient software records video with HD resolution (main stream), then previewing/recording video on smartphone has to use SD resolution (sub-stream). Vice versa, if the Smartphone plays the video at HD resolution, then the CMSClient has to record video on SD resolution.

Yes, it supports digital zoom in/out. However, it does not support optical zoom as it comes with a fixed 3.6mm lens.
2. What is the purpose of the padlock icon in the App?
The padlock allows you to enable/disable alarm detection including motion detection,detection made by wireless security detectors.
3. Can it be set up to automatically pan as it records?
The camera can support 5 preset positions, click preset will automatically pan/tilt to designated position.
4. Can I hear and talk at the same time? because when I tapped the microphone button to speak, the speaker stopped working.
That's intending to reduce the echo and noise, when you talk to the microphone, the app stops the speaker to keep your voice is clear, if not the speaker sound will sent with your voice togeter, that is hard to listen.
5. Does the camera have to be hooked up to the router to be viewed remotely or just for initial setup?
Even for initial setup, it's not mandatory to be hooked up to the router, as it supports smartlink function. Users can use the Smartlink function to setup camera's WiFi connection, even the camera is not hooked up to the router.
6. Under the Recording settings, there is a recording I/O switch, what is its purpose?
Only camera has alarm I/O will show this function under the recording settings, it supports alarm video recording. That is when the camera receives an alarm signal via its alarm input, it will start to record video.
7. Does this WiFi camera support Windows smartphone?
The App only supports iOS and Android based smartphones/tablets. Currently, we have no app for Windows phone. However, users can use the CMSClient software for Windows PC (WINXP, WIN7, WIN8, WIN10).

Now, I am finding the camera becomes unresponsive after about 2 hours of operation. I am unable to connect to it via the app and it stops recording. I can see the camera as a connected device in my router table and I can ping it successfully with no losses and an average ping time of 5ms. If I power reset the camera it works fine again.
I strongly suspect the v13.0.0.98 firmware is the cause of the problem. Am I able to revert to v13.0.0.96 firmware to resolve this problem?

2. If you have the old firmware, you can use the IPC debug tool to manually upgrade it.

3. The latest firmware typically fixed some bugs, it unlikely will change the major feature of the camera.
4. We will ask our technician to check it, if it's a bug, we will fix it on the next firmware release.
