2.0 Megapixel Starvis Starlight IP Cameras

Starvis Starlight Full HD 1080p IP Camera Solution

Starvis is a new generation low light technology developed by Sony, Sony has released a series of HD CMOS image sensor supported with Starvis technology and DOL WDR. Here we introduce you the IP camera solution that leveraging Sony Starvis CMOS sensors. Compared with traditional security cameras, the Starvis CMOS sensor powered security cameras is able to deliver full color image without using artificial illumination (Infrared lighting/white lighting) under low light conditions. The sensitivity of Starvis CMOS image sensor is two times higher than conventional CMOS image sensors.

Without using the artificial lighting, the camera can be designed very small. Being able to reduce the total power consumption and heat, Starvis low-light cameras are eco-friendly and reliable.

Typically, the Infrared LEDs have the limited lifespan, and the light efficiency will gradually reduce as time goes on. Using the Starvis security cameras can perfectly solve this problem. For example, Sony IMX291 CMOS image sensor can capture color image under 0.0001Lux, to capture monochrome image, the minimum illumination is 0Lux, which means this image sensor can see what human eyes can’t see.

Based on recent released product brochure, Sony Starvis CMOS image sensors portfolio including:

  • IMX274LQC: 8.51-Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor (4K UHD resolution; 3864x2202)
  • IMX178LQJ: 6.29-Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor (5MP resolution;2592 (H) × 1944 (V))
  • IMX124LQT: 3.21-Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor (3MP resolution;2065(H) x 1565(V))
  • IMX291LQR: 2.13-Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor (1080p resolution: 1945x1097)
  • IMX290LQR: 2.13-Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor (DOL-WDR)
  • IMX323LQN: 2.19-Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor (NIR)

Undoubtedly, Starlight security cameras will become popular because people are tired of conventional products. Many camera manufacturers released the Starvis image sensor powered security cameras.
