MStar H.265 HD IP Camera Smart Video Analytics

MStar H.265+ Smart HD Network Cameras MSC313E MSC316DM

Unifore is proud to launch cost-effective network cameras to cater the increasing needs for affordable IP surveillance system. The new series IP cameras are based on industry-leading SoC from MStar. MStar is a global leader in supplying application specific ICs (ASIC) for the consumer and Image processing product markets. MStar is renowned by its reputation on TV industry, its processor has been widely used in smart TV sets.

Currently, MStar has released two SoCs for application of IP cameras. The model includes MC313E and MC316D. According to datasheet released by MStar, MC313E has capability to handle 1080p@20fps video encoding, while MSC316DC is able to process 5-megapixel resolution video with frame rate of 15. Both SoCs are able to receive raw image data captured by CMOS image sensor via DVP interface.

H.265 or HEVC is today’s main trend in video processing from TV industry to video surveillance field. MStar MC313E and MC316DM has embedded H.265/HEVC compression algorithm, they can compress images/video effective to reduce file size. Comparing conventional H.264, H.265 is proved to reduce file size to half without compromising of image quality, consequently, H.265 enables your IP video surveillance system to reduce almost 50% bandwidth consumption and storage space. To know more why H.265 is a promising technology, you can read the article - comparison between H.264 and H.265.

Apart from regular function, our MStar IP cameras support smart video analytics. It can support virtual line detection, region detection, object missing/loitering detection, even object counts. Smart video analytics greatly help to reduce involvement from security operators, can offer you a smart and far reliable system that reducing operating cost. You can read the following article to know how those smart video analytics work.

MSC313E + SC2232 2MP/1080p IP Camera Solution

2-megapixel/1080p IP camera solution adopts MSC313E and SC2232 hardware design, the SC2232 is a 2-megapixel resolution CMOS image sensor can deliver 1920x1080 resolution that can support max. 30fps frame rate. The CMOS is MADE-IN-CHINA, hence can reduce the overall cost of solution. It comes from SmartSens, the ever fast growing Chinese semi-conductor company, their engineers/founders have obscure correlation with OmniVision. SC3323 is a 1/2.7” inch format sensor, the sensor can capture decent quality image at day and night.

The image quality of this solution is adequate for normal IP video surveillance applications such as residential CCTV system, or even IP camera system for grocery shops. For those commercial users, they may try MSC313E+IMX307 solution which delivers the exact same resolution video, yet has a better night vision performance.

MSC313E + IMX307 Starlight 2MP/1080P IP Camera

Sony is a renowned for its cutting edge image sensors promise to deliver the best performance in market. This solution obviously benefits from Sony CMOS, Sony IMX307 is a 2-megapixel resolution CMOS image sensor can not only deliver vivid color FHD video, but also have a better starlight sensitivity since it supports Sony patent Starvis technology.

Similar to IMX323, IMX307 is a cost-down version of IMX291, IMX291 is one of star CMOS image sensor among Starvis sensor portfolio, yet it’s too expensive for some regular IP cameras or dashcamera applications. Intending to cater the needs for Starvis CMOS sensors from regular market, Sony released IMX307, it offers good starlight performance and cost is not high. However, IMX307 is a elite version of IMX291, so the performance of both sensors is not the same.

Sony IMX307 Offers Better Starlight Performance

Why Starvis CMOS is so impressive? Sony Starvis CMOS sensor features industry-leading light sensitivity performance which enables cameras to see clearly at night, it even allows camera to capture color image under dim lighting condition. For instance Its light performance is really better than cam inside any smartphones in market. We recommend this solution for commercial IP surveillance application despite the reason its cost a bit higher.
