Image resolution, versatile function, smart video analytics, user experience are key factors when manufacturers develop new products in video surveillance market, especially for Hd network cameras. In order to survive in this fierce competition, Chinese companies keep reducing the price, while other companies develop new products that meet the niche market. Amaryllo, founded in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is a startup company that released some new type of network cameras for indoor&outdoor video surveillance. CamPRO Deluxe is the patent-pending auto-tracking security camera among its product portfolio.
For a conventional network camera, it's a bad idea to adopt the light bulb shape design. Although this type of network camera can be easily screwed in E26/E27 base, users will have few choice to find a place to install it. Moreover, likely the network camera can't get the desirable monitoring angle. In order to solve this problem, Amaryllo developed the iCamPRO Deluxe that combines light bulb E26/27 shape design with pan & tilt together. According to Amaryllo, iCamPRO Deluxe can deliver full HD 1080p video, support remote pan & tilt, auto-tracking etc function. By the way, they call it a robot.
I am a technician, basically I will check the product specification, skip introduction and description chapters. From this product technical specification, it's a HD camera that utilizes 2 megapixel image sensor, included Infrared illuminators to offer night vision. It claimed to have 360 °auto tracking, however, the pan rotation angle is -170° ~ 170° and tilt rotation angle is -20° ~ 10°. Additionally, iCamPRO Deluxe has built-in multi-motion sensor for intrusion detection, this is a good design, but it will be great if it can support separate wireless security sensors. Since 360°viewing angle doesn't mean the detection is 360°.
In my previous article, I wrote "Easy network connection is crucial to provide good user experience. If the network camera can't be easily connect to Internet, consumers will feel frustrated, then give up trying, don't expect they will spend time to solve the problem." To ensure having good WiFi signal reception and stable connection, it uses MIMO 2x2 antenna technology. What's MIMO?
MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) is an antenna technology for wireless communications in which multiple antennas are used at both the source (transmitter) and the destination (receiver). The antennas at each end of the communications circuit are combined to minimize errors and optimize data speed.
Another thing you should pay attention, in iCamPRO Deluxe network protocol, we can't find RTSP. RTSP is an universal video stream protocol that can transmit video stream to across different platforms. If network camera supports RTSP, users can play video stream on VLC and QuickTime players.
Light bulb shape design is a new trying, whether this product will be accepted by consumers, it's still unknown, the product is selling at price US$199.9, neither expensive nor affordable. When I seat in my chair and look up, I realize that my office doesn't have any E26/E27 base. If I want to monitor my office, I have to install a light bulb base first. Additionally, we assume that there is a light bulb base in my room, should I replace the LED bulb with iCamPRO Deluxe? Please note that this camera doesn't come with LED white lighting.
