As the industry-leading CMOS image sensor solution provider, Sony recently launched four new CMOS image sensors which feature Sony’s pregius global shutter to better cater the demands of industrial HD video applications. These image sensors including IMX273, IMX296, IMX287, IMX297.
The new 1/2.9-inch format CMOS image sensors include IMX273LLR/LQR, which is able to provide total 1.58 megapixel (1456x1088) resolution, and the 0.4 megapixel IMX287LLR/LQR. Both sensors support Sub LVDS video output interface.
Another two CMOS image sensors including the IMX296LLR (1.58 megapixel) and the IMX297LLR (0.4 megapixel) support the MIPI CSI-2 1lane raw video output interface. Additionally, Sony has also published a comparison video demo to show how Sony’s pregius global shutter can differentiate from the rolling shutter.
Compare the roller shutter CMOS technology, the global shutter can achieve distortion-free, no motion blur, criss and high clarity image at hight speed. According to the pubhlished white pater, Sony claims their pregius global shutter CMOS image sensors can outperform traditional global shutter CMOS image sensors, they can be the best substitutes to the CCD image sensors that are dedicated to industrial HD video applications.
Other Sony’s pregius family members including IMX253 (12.3MP), IMX255 (8.9MP), IMX250 (5MP), IMX252 (3.2MP), IMX174 (2.3MP), IMX264 (5MP), IMX265 (3.2MP), IMX249 (2.3MP) and so on. These image sensors have been widely used in various high-speed HD industrial cameras.
