Hisilicon Hi3519 - core engine of 4K H.265 network cameras

In 2015 CPSE (China Public Security Expo) show, Hisilicon unveiled its 4K/UHD H.265+ strategy which intends to offer a complete solution combines both hardware and software platform together. In terms of hardware, the company released Hi3519 SoC, which supports max. 320 megapixel CMOS image sensors, 4K/UHD @ 60fps video encoding with the latest H.265/HEVC compression format. Additionally, this SoC adopts Hisilicon patented Hi-ISP and Hi-IVE technologies.  Hi3519 will come with Huawei IoT Lite OS as the software platform.

Currently, the Hi3519 SoC is still under internal test. In addition to being widely used to 4K/UHD network cameras, we expect Hi3519 will be used in Huawei 4K/UHD Sports camera. From now on, Hisilicon hasn't released the datasheet of Hi3519.

Hisilicon Hi-ISP technology: exceptional 4K/UHD video surveillance

Resolution is the core parameter determines the image quality that a network camera delivers. From CIF, D1, HD, Full HD to 4K/8K, both consumers and manufacturers are pursuing much higher resolution.

Since Hisilicon introduced Hi-ISP V1.0 technology, the company released the Hi-ISP V3.0 to update the image processing technology for keeping up the trend. With continuous investing in research and development, the Hi-ISP V3.0 has made a significant improvement in defog, low illumination, noise reduction, WDR, fisheye lens correction, digital image stabilization etc technologies, and expecting to released Hi-ISP V4.0 in the upcoming 2016.

Generally, human eyes'viewing angle is 120 degree, obtaining clear focus angle is 25 degree. Utilizing Hi-ISP can correct fisheye lens distortion to expand the viewing angle to 180 degree and 360 degree.
