HD-SDI is the abbreviation of High Definition Serial Digital Interface, which is widely used in TV broadcasting field, it is also one of popular HD standard for analog HD video surveillance equipment. HD-SDI interface adopts coaxial cable and BNC connector for video transmission, its effective transmission distance reaches up to 100 meters, it's the ideal choice for short or middle distance HD video transmission.

HD-SDI originally derived from TV broadcasting studio's need for digital HD video transmission, HD-SDI adopts uncompressed and loss-less video transmission technology, greatly enhanced the image quality. Consequently, most of TV broadcast studios utilize HD-SDI video transmission.

Using the HD-SDI cameras, without the need for signal encoding and decoding process, the video can be transmitted directly to the display terminal or storage device. HD-SDI technology can avoid the picture video latency problem of IP network cameras, also codec process caused quality loss, thus get the full HD picture and without delay transmission.
